Wow! Can I just say how quickly the past 3 weeks has flown by! I have thoroughly enjoyed them, but I’m a touch concerned at how fast 2018 is going to fly by – so before I get into the nitty gritty of the challenge, I just wanted to say to everyone – if you have set a goal and are wanting to achieve greatness this year, then keep going! If you have already “fallen off” then get back to it.
Okey – short motivation rant over.. Here’s my final check in!
Challenges are key to self growth
I just wanted to add this in – but without challenge, we have no growth. We need to push ourselves constantly – sometimes we are dragged, sometimes we are pushed by someone else but sometimes, We need to step up and push ourselves. This 21 day challenge pushed me to grow – I’ve learnt how diet and nutrition have such a massive impact on your body. I’ve learnt how easy food SHOULD be. And lastly, I’ve learnt that being healthier doesn’t have to be a struggle.
The food and smoothies are amazing – I do have to say that I am probably not the best person to comment on spicy/burny food because I don’t eat it at all – ever. And the 21 day challenge box includes quite a few spicy and ‘hot’ options. Which are super yum and well spiced however I couldn’t eat them – BUT I asked and found out that you can just ask them when ordering your box to exclude these!
Alright, so I’ve gotten quite a few people say to me “but Megan, FitChef is expensive?!”; “I want to order these meals but I just think they aren’t for people like me – who can afford these”. Alright – I hear you. That initial perception around the cost of a 3 week or monthly box can be overwhelming. And yes, if you just look at it without any consideration for what you actually get in your box, it can come across as expensive. BUT, I can guarantee you, if you take a moment to check out how many meals are included (and work out the cost of each) and how many days you will be fed, you may start to change your perception.
What took me off guard when I first received my box was how much food was included – yes, its easy to say “21 days of food and smoothies” but have you ever seen all of the food you eat over 21 days?
Now I’m not living under a rock – there are many of us (yup, me included) that this type of cost is not something you are able to put upfront – but there are many ways that you can be healthier and live a healthier lifestyle – FitChef is an enabler to this.
If you aren’t a stringent budgeter of your food allocation for the month, do yourself a favour and go have a look at how much you’ve spent on food over 3 weeks – everything, the grocery shopping trips + the fast food quickies + the late night dashes + the “I just need a bottle of water and these crisps” garage trip.
Have you ever wondered that your comment “but its too expensive” is just a fool proofed excuse that you aren’t ready for the commitment of a healthier lifestyle? (just a thought)
The loss (and the gains)!
Yes! There were serious results being on the 21 day challenge. First I will get to the Loss! And probably the easiest loss I’ve made actually. 3kg’s in 3 weeks. Hey – who knew that good food = good results!
The gains are just as key though – I’ve been sleeping better, my skin is looking better and I’ve been able to keep up with my goal to exercise more – with early morning bootcamps through to parkruns and the occasional trailruns.
Also – I have noticed that my ‘afternoon slump’ and lack of drive have reduced significantly, weird coincidence? I’m inclined to think not..
