So I’ve written about techniques to make your day more productive before – mostly for myself, but I received so many messages from you guys on how that helped you. And that’s awesome!
But today I realised that I have indeed been procrastinating again, fallen off the “wagon” and lost my 2018 mojo (Already? In March? WHAT?) – and I’m not sure how, but all of a sudden I was back in my old routine, and not really being as productive or outgoing as I should have been. With anything though, as soon as you are conscious about it, you are given a golden opportunity to learn, grow and to improve.
And then I heard about another lady who had the same problem as me – she got overwhelmed by stresses at her job, she had NO IDEA where to start (eek been there all to often!) and it’s a tough place to be in. How do you get out, how do you start again – do you quit or do you breathe in deeply and calm the #$@% down…
So pep talk for this morning is – You are amazing, you are great. What you can achieve in one day is unbelievable BUT you need to DO. Dreams are fabulous, but without action, they are merely dreams. Use every moment to DO, to ACHIEVE.
Right, now down to the nitty gritty – here are some of the ways we are going to make today (and every day) awesome. Morning routine-ing 101 commencing!
(previous night technically but..) Go to bed at a reasonable time
Mainly because this way you can get up when the alarm goes off and not hit that snooze button.. (I see you there! No snoozing today!)
Get up within 5 minutes of waking up!
If its after 5am and you are conscious of what day it is, then its better to get up than lie in. staying in bed after this point actually starts your body in the next sleep cycle – have you ever found yourself kind of sleepy at around 1/2pm? Then its probably that you had started a new sleep cycle before you got going (and your body is now very very confused!)
Take a 15 minute break to get organised
Make your favourite tea/coffee/beverage and sit down with a to do list – get your thoughts in order. What do you NEED to achieve today? What do you WANT to achieve today? What have you been putting off? Take a view of both your personal to do’s (make lunch/dinner, gym, calling mom) and work to do’s.
Schedule your to do list
This one I read about recently and I’m actually excited to try it. Essentially, take your to do list (that you’ve just created!) and add a time to get it done next to each item. This way you can start to see if you are being realistic in what you want to get done.
The worst thing you can do is plan too many things in one day – don’t plan for 15 hours when realistically you can only get to 7 hours of tasks (work or personal)
Alright everyone – let’s go and conquer!
