Ok – so week 1 is done and dusted, and here’s how it went..
Food and FitChef 21 day challenge box
Wow! That’s all I can say really! I’ve just been amazed at the meals and smoothies included in the box. And what I hadn’t realised is that the plan is so incredibly well thought out and prepared. See every day is sorted for you – from breakfast to dinner and snacks.
By following the meal plan that is provided in your box, your meals are divided into daily requirements for best results. A solid breakfast (for week 1 this can be oats, muesli (included in the box) or scrambled eggs which you can make), lunch consisting of a higher calorie/higher carb recipe and dinner which is based on a lighter meal (no pasta/rice) – and finally 2 smoothies as snacks through the day. (all of these breakdowns are included in handy labels on each meal package and clearly explained in your box)
All of this adding up to a good balanced nutritional intake consisting of between 1100 – 1300 calories (depending on the selection you take out for that day).
So you might mess up
Friday was my birthday, and I messed up – I indulged in a glass of wine and a cupcake. But I didn’t let that stop me in my tracks or discourage me from my goal – one meal does not a healthy lifestyle break!
What I didn’t expect was that I was genuinely excited to go back to the FitChef meals the next day – my body was craving good whole food.
Good food effects
Believe it or not, many of us do not get the right nutrition from our food. We may think we are eating enough fruit or veg – but are you getting the right balance of fibre, vitamins, protein, carbs? Probably not..
This week was an eye opener for me – I have not felt so good in a long time. I have slept better, my skin is looking clearer and my concentration at work has been stronger than ever. And just from what I’ve been eating.
Also, last but not least, I have finally had the energy to start with fitness training 3 x a week – 5am starts are no joke!
Week 1 down and I’m excited to be starting week 2 strong. No, not every day went to plan – and sometimes that is just the way it happens. But each new meal and each new day represents a fresh start to achieving your goal.
Week 2’s challenge centres around changing your idea of what breakfast is.. I’m nervous and excited at the same time – will keep you posted!
If you are keen to try out the FitChef meals then why check them out and see how these meals can benefit you!
