Ok so I haven’t done one of these in a while, but now as we are officially fully in 2018 (schools are back, varsities are back soon and most leave has now finished!) I thought this would be a good time to say it!
Monday’s can be rushed, panic’d and just all too stressful – for me personally it’s because I don’t properly plan my week out, which is something I want to do this year. But it can also sometimes be as a result of our attitude – perhaps you don’t want to be back at school/varsity/work or maybe your heart is still yearning to be back at home sleeping (Yes please!).
Now I get you – totally! It’s my jam, my bed just calls my name and wouldn’t a nap be just fabulous – instead of working.. So this one is for you, me and everyone else that may need a few tips to rock today.
Here are my 8 tips to staying inspired and motivated today! These will help kickstart that productivity, making the most out of today.
Focus on your health, remember to drink enough water! Water helps our brain function, it helps our digestive system – its the holy grail of having a good day.
Get moving! Stairs or lift? Stairs! Get your heart rate up throughout the day, even better if you can fit a gym session or even a mild walk in during your day. Moving our body gets your blood flowing, improves your mood and lowers stress levels. If at around 2pm you are feeling down, take a walk – these can be life savers! (especially if you are stuck in an office job)
Plan your day – write down your top 3 priorities for the day, 1 from each part of your life. For me, this is what I want to achieve today in my relationships (family/husband); work and for myself (my blog normally fits itself in here!)
Have a time to be thankful – every day find a moment in your day to reflect on what you are thankful for. Reflection helps put things into perspective, sometimes some issues can seem overwhelming and scary or more frustrating than they should be, by taking 5 minutes out of your day to focus and reflect on what is really important to you and you are thankful for will remind you why you do what you do!
Find one thing to read or browse every day – learning is how we keep growing. Increasing your knowledge a little every day will help you keep up to date with things and you will be surprised at how it all adds up!
Make a brainstorm list – keep a list of ideas. Want to create a business in the future or are you a keen baker? Make a brainstorm list and add to it everyday. You will be amazed at the ideas that will develop when you allow your brain to creatively brainstorm regularly.
Tidy your desk! Clutter doesn’t always help the brain think properly, it often also distracts. Be sure to put things away and clear the space around you.
Remember to breath! Sounds silly right? But when you are having a panic’d or rushed day, you probably have not had a breather. Take a few moments to breath and take some fresh air in – another great thing to remember if something is frustrating you or if you are struggling to accomplish a task. Giving your brain a bit of a rest can do wonders.
All of these little improvements can drastically change how today goes. Give them a try, test what works best for you but always remember to be easy and kind on yourself. Have you noticed how when we rush, we are often so tough on ourselves? We have to get to… We have to achieve … We have to accomplish … by…
