Affordable date night ideas to do this month!
Hey, love is in the air! But date nights can be pricey, think about it – when did going to the movies become something you checked your budget for? Now I get it, fancy date nights and a bit of spoilage is fab, but honestly – not necessary. Date nights (or date days) are there for you to get to know each other, show your love for each other and create lasting memories. (insert soppy romantic music and visuals here!)
Personally, these are my favourite date ideas – which are affordable, fun and are great at igniting that spark.
Picnic in your garden.
One of my favs – I love doing this one. Grab a blanket and a few choice snacks, a bottle of wine and your partner for a cute picnic in your garden. This one is great for a relaxed vibe where you can just be, catch up on the day or simply take a nap together out in the sun or under the stars.
Another option? Head over to your local botanical garden, local park or nature reserve.
Masterchef your kitchen
My husband and I adore this one – neither of us are amazing chefs (we tend to stick to recipes we know, without too much variety), this date night option offers you the chance to try a new recipe together and see if you can master it! Working together and cooking a new meal can strengthen your communication skills and guarantees a good laugh! We’ve tried dumplings, chicken chow mien and a few others. Take it up a notch and create a blind taste competition.. Trust me, this one can be fun!
Painting extraordinaire
Get your creative juices flowing with a bit of artistic flair, painting and your partner. Not a natural painter? There are some great tutorials on Youtube (A quick search will find the one you like). Watch them together and each give them a go. Don’t forget the wine and your humour!
Go for a walk
Going for a walk together can be a fun outing. Get some fresh air in those lungs and catch up on your day/week or anything new that’s happened in each other’s lives. Sometimes its these simple moments where you find each other in our busy world.
Visit your local market
Take a stroll through a local market, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the vibey atmosphere. When my husband and I were newly dating, we loved going out to these markets.
Get out that Monopoly!
Play games, healthy competition is good for you!
