20 minutes to becoming more productive today
Ever had a rough start to your day – alarm didn’t go off, shower was cold, didn’t get breakfast because you were in a rush to get to the office?
Suddenly your dreams of a productive day are thrown out of the window – who can get things done in this frame of mind? We’ve all been there, we’ve all felt this manic Monday vibe. But what should we be doing differently to get on the right footing and have that productive day?
Here are a list of things that you can start doing to get your day off to a good start
Write down 3 acts of gratitude
Have a quick think and write 3 small things that you are grateful for today. This is a powerful activity to start doing as it trains your mind to search for positives, instead of negatives. Improve your optimism and raise your success rates. Get a good start to your day with this simple 5 minute exercise.
Bullet journaling – write down a positive experience
Detail something good that happened to you. Keep the memory lasting. I find this one great, as it helps anchor the moment in time. Going back to this after a few months and realising where you were vs now.
Exercise
Give yourself a moment to treat yourself. Exercise gives you a moment and a chance to get yourself moving and the endorphins flowing.
Meditation
Breath in. Breath out. Practise a 5 minute moment of silence. Focus on where you are, how you feel. Allow your mind to wander. Be present in the moment.
Finally, make a list of tasks that you WILL accomplish today
Create a list of things that you are determined to do today. As you are beginning, add set times to each task to give you an outline of how long tasks will take you – remember to be realistic.
